shape: second row, nine down. this icon is the rectangle, but also have a fly out box.
2)The gradient will go from black to white, in a linear gradient. The opacity is 100% so the coloring will be solid and not translucent.
3)Firstly you have to click the second drop box with the coloring and fading. then click the small square that shows, black fading into the checker like squares, this is showing you its black transitions into transparent.
4) You have selected a path.
5) No it is not a closed path, you can see an opening at the bottom, and when you close a path the dots go away, and all you have left is the line.
6) The rectangle would be black.
7) Hold down the same icon, and a drop box will appear, click the circle icon inside it.
